High surf means high waves and they are very unpredictable and dangerous.

High surf can cause serious injury or death.

Examples of beaches on Maui where the High Surf sign is common is Kanaha Beach Park, Baldwin Beach Park, Kamaloe 1, Kamaloe 2, Kamaloe 3, Hanakao’o Beach Park, and DT Fleming Beach Park.
